The planning group develops and promotes events for the benefit of the college and the alumni community in New England. Now it also coordinates efforts in our region to ensure that Antioch College has a future. We meet about five times a year, generally on weekday evenings. The next meeting will be held at my house (320 Dudley Street, Brookline; directions on request) next Monday, July 16, at 7 p.m. That evening we will be firming up plans for a major event on an environmentalist theme to be held in conjunction with Antioch New England at Tufts University on Sunday, October 14 (save the date!). And we will be discussing the Alumni Board's effort to keep the college open beyond July 2008, the Board of Trustees' plans for the college, and what actions our alumni chapter might take in response. RSVP to join us. If you'd like to join the planning group but can't make next week's meeting, please let me know and I'll put you on the list to receive messages about future meetings.
