From barbara at wordcourt.com Wed Feb 18 21:55:53 2009 From: barbara at wordcourt.com (Barbara Wallraff) Date: Wed Feb 18 21:55:55 2009 Subject: [Acbostonalums] Antiochian to Antiochian Message-ID: <2C8CE8B9-72BC-4403-8B8D-68A26F0A7903@wordcourt.com> Dear fellow Antiochians, This is a unique and decisive moment in Antioch's history. Progress continues toward the independence of our College. We're about a month into the 90-day period specified for reaching a binding agreement with the Antioch University Board of Trustees. (For details and the latest news, please see www.antiochians.org.) One crucial step in Antioch's revival will be hiring a new College president. Therefore, last week the Boston alumni chapter planning group committed the chapter to raising a portion of the future president's salary. The amount we felt we could commit to was $11,000 -- of which $10,583 remains to be raised. We plan to raise the money with phonathons similar to the "Neighbor to Neighbor" events Barack Obama used in his presidential campaign, with such great success. We hope to inspire other chapters to do the same, allowing the College Board Pro Tem to recruit someone first-rate. Will you join us for a phonathon and help make the dream of a newly independent College a reality? The phonathons will be held on Sunday, March 1, and Sunday, March 8. Bring your cell phone and charger, and we'll provide you with camaraderie, refreshments, a list of names to be called, and guidance on what to say. We'll be taking pledges, to be fulfilled only after a binding agreement with the University is reached. SUNDAY, MARCH 1 3 to 7 P.M. at the home of Karen Sheaffer '65 7 MERRILL STREET, CAMBRIDGE Merrill Street is a block-long street off Broadway. Heading east on Broadway, Merrill is a right turn onto the second street after Dana Street. Or heading west on Broadway, it is a left turn onto the second street after Hancock. SUNDAY, MARCH 8 3 to 7 P.M. at the home of Masha Etkin '63 10 COPLEY STREET, BROOKLINE Copley Street is a block-long street parallel to Comm. Ave. near BU. From Comm. I hope you'll put one or the other of these on your calendar and RSVP to me, so we'll be sure to have work space and food for you. Thanks! I look forward to seeing you, Barbara Wallraff -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
