Chicago Alums Gather

About 50 people gathered at the home of Judy Wood Spock ’54 and Michael Spock ’59 on June 3, 2001. Among the Chicago alums atending were Dick Salem ’53, Bob Dawson ’54, Rosalie (Schonfeld) Harris ’56, Sandy McNab ’65, Lori (Mesche) Granger ’67, Marcia (Berman) Baum ’45, Joan Levin ’59, Helen (Richards) Hawthorne ’48 and Jim Hawthorne ’49. All were there to celebrate with Bob Fogarty the 60th anniversary of the Antioch Review. Rosellan Brown, a frequent contributor to the Review, a creative writing professor at the School of the Chicago Art Institute and a NY Times best-selling author, read from her collection of short stories and gave some insight into the creative process. The Review published Rosellan’s first piece, which subsequently won an O. Henry Prize. Chicago writer Patricia Lear, also a contributor to the Review, also attended.
