Judith Duncan Palmer (1938 - 2001)
Dr.
Judith Duncan Palmer ’61, passed away October 5, 2001 at the age of 63.
Judith grew up in Yellow Springs and received her Ph.D. at Case Western
Reserve. She was married to Jack Palmer in May 1962. Judith spent a 22-year-long
career with Procter and Gamble, including four years in Japan with her
husband. She had a love for France and the French language. Judith taught
French at Oberlin College and later took a position at the University
of New Hampshire as director of their Experimental Education Program.
Judith Duncan Palmer was devoted to Antioch. She became a trustee in 2000,
played a major role on the Executive and Finance Committees, and served
on the Alumni Board. She is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter and
son-in-law, Sarah and Mark Murphy; brother and sister-in-law, Bill
’63 and LouAnne McNeill; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Jacky
Duncan and their three children; brother and sister-in-law, Alec and Buffy
Duncan and their two children. Her father, William H. Duncan, and her
mother, Martha Hogue Duncan, were Antioch graduates from the classes ’34
and ’37 respectively.
