Book Notes

Kristin Ohlson ’73 recently published a memoir with Hyperion Books called Stalking the Divine: Contemplating Faith with the Poor Clares.

In Stalking the Divine, Ohlson discovers a forgotten group of cloistered, contemplative nuns in downtown Cleveland with a mission to pray for the world. During the three-year dialogue that ensues, Ohlson – a long-time atheist wistful for faith – struggles to understand how these women continue to devote themselves so joyfully to prayer.

Ohlson has published articles and essays in the New York Times, Ms. Magazine, Salon, O The Oprah Magazine, Discover, Food & Wine, Tin House, Poets & Writers, and many other publications. Born and raised in Oroville, California, she now lives in Cleveland, just miles from the Poor Clares. Order the book at www.amazon.com.
