Budget Balanced, Gift Roster Available

by Fred Kraus

Antioch College has achieved a balanced accrual budget for the 1999-2000 fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2000. “This is the third straight year this has been accomplished,” said Barb Stewart, Vice President of Finance and Administration at Antioch College. “We are very proud of achieving this extremely important goal and are grateful for all of our friends, alumni, students, faculty and staff who helped to make it possible.”

Another piece of extremely important news has been the establishment of 2000-2001 Annual Fund Matching Challenge Grant. It was put together by Antioch Trustees Jeffrey Kasch ’65 and James Robinson IV ’86, and The Negaunee Foundation, Ltd. in order to increase the College Annual Fund. The Challenge Grant matches the increased portion of an Annual Fund gift. This is a significant fund-raising program for us and sets a benchmark for future endeavors.

As always, charitable gifts to the College played a key role in balancing the budget. Those contributions and their contributors are listed in the Antioch College Gift Roster. “We really can’t thank people enough. They really help make it all happen,” said Dianne Brou Fraser ’68, President, Antioch College Alumni Association.

“Making the Gift Roster available to alumni and friends by request also helps reduce some of the College’s printing and mailing costs, which is always a nice side benefit,” added Reuben T. Harris ’69, Vice President – and President-elect, of the Antioch College Alumni Association.

A printed copy of the 1999-2000 Gift Roster will be mailed to friends and alumni who request it. To request a printed list, please contact the Antioch College Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 1-800-411-6780, or send an e-mail request to Jane Garrison, Director of Stewardship and Special Giving Programs, at garrison@antioch-college.edu
