Patricia
T. Kelly ’65 is the author of Assess Your True Risk of Breast Cancer
(Owl Books Originals, 2000). Called “a must read for all women as they
face the confusing morass of information and half-truths out there” by
Dr. Dean Edell, the book lays out the facts and dispels the myths so women
can have the information they need from an authority they can trust. For
over twenty years Dr. Kelly has been a medical geneticist specializing
in cancer risk assessment for hereditary and non-hereditary risk factors.
She received her Ph.D. in genetics from the University of California,
Berkeley in 1971. She is the author of Understanding Breast Cancer
Risk (Temple University Press, 1991) and numerous articles, and is
regularly featured and consulted by news media as an expert on breast
cancer risk.
