Sesquicentennial Celebration

Antioch is preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2003/2004. The sesquicentennial celebration will begin with a presentation on June 28 at the College’s annual reunion by José Ramos-Horta, Foreign Minister of East Timor, and winner of the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize. Ramos-Horta received a M.A. from Antioch University and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Antioch College in 1997.

The Antioch University Board of Trustees and the Antioch College Alumni Board will meet in Yellow Springs October 24 - 26, and will host a conference of distinguished educators with a focus on the social sciences. Throughout the year, presentations will be made by noted alumni, exhibits will be on display, and opportunities to return to Antioch will be announced. Special regional alumni events will also be planned around the country featuring notable alumni in various fields.
