Mark Pinsky '62 has written a graduate-level book titled Introduction to Fourier Analysis and Wavelets, published by Brooks/Cole Publishing Co.

Pinsky is a successful author and respected mathematician. His book emphasizes a concrete and computational approach to the subject of Fourier analysis and wavelet theory while maintaining a balance between theory and applications. In some cases, several different proofs are offered for a given proposition, allowing students to compare different methods.

Pinsky teaches in the Mathematics Department of Northwestern University. Two of his three grown children live in the Chicago area. He also has three grandsons, ages 3, 5, and 7, living in the Chicago area.

The ISBN number is 0-534-37660-6.
