Student Reflections from the Field |
Alumni Events in New York Approximately 80 alumni gathered in New York City at AOL Time Warner in Rockefeller Center for a cocktail reception on Tuesday, May 13, 2003. The event was hosted by Jordan Tamagni ’84, a newly appointed member of the Board of Trustees, and Richard Socarides ’76. President Joan Straumanis ’57 gave an update on the College and Barbara Slaner Winslow ’68 spoke on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Also in attendance was former Dean of Students and recently retired College Professor Steve Schwerner ’60. Schwerner is also a newly elected member of the Alumni Board Association. The crowd was invited to screen the new Admissions video produced by Chad Johnston ’01. The event brought a diverse group of graduates together to reminisce about Antioch—from the early ’50s to the late ’90s—and plan for its future. Not a month later, a small group of alumni in the upstate New York area gathered at the home of William Harris ’60 and his wife, Jo Anne Simon, in Cold Spring-on-Hudson on Sunday, June 1 for a champagne luncheon. President Joan Straumanis ’57 gave an update on the College which was followed by a period of questions and answers. Alumni attending were Richard Kaplan ’49, Marcia Fleischer Anderson ’67, Joy Gidding Dryfoos ’51, Roberta Block ’54, A. Floyd Lattin ’73, Mary Chin Lau ’75, Dipak Roy ’74, Robert Krinsky ’57, James Stoner ’59, and Josephine Gerace Pasciullo ’53. |
